Sweet Auburn Works, Inc. seeks to build an organization that is sustained through a diverse revenue model, including corporate, foundation, and individual donors, as well as from membership dues. In order for Sweet Auburn Works to realize our ambitious goals, we need to raise funds that allow us to hire strong leadership and develop the organizational infrastructure that can increase and sustain our impact on the district. We seek funds for staff to manage operations and programs that support our residential and commercial stakeholders’ efforts to create a thriving Sweet Auburn District.

Why now and why Sweet Auburn Works?
  • The Main Street program is a proven success model for neighborhood-based preservation and revitalization
  • SAW has created unprecedented community collaboration and cooperation, as reflected by the organization leadership/Board
  • Now is the time - recovering economy, opening of Atlanta Streetcar, opening of the National Center for Civil and Human Rights and in progress neighborhood investments (real estate activity and pipeline, GDOT TE project - signs and underpass enhancement, Invest Atlanta façade grant program, state Tourism Grant for Augmented Reality application and recent MLK Landmark District zoning updates.)
